The finished product, perfect and ready for immediate use, is the result of a complex process that often goes unnoticed. We would therefore like to show you how we manufacture our manways and manhole covers, illustrating each stage of the production cycle: from processing the raw material to obtaining the finished product, packed and ready for shipment.
1. Arrival and inspection of raw materials
The production process begins with the arrival of the raw material, which undergoes rigorous checks to verify compliance with Arten’s standards. This step is essential to guarantee the high-quality levels that have always distinguished us.
2. Sheet metal cutting and machining
This is followed by the sheet metal cutting stage, during which the components required for production are cut to size, sorted according to thickness and the specified technical requirements.
In-house sheet metal fabrication offers a competitive advantage, as it allows for product customisation right from the early stages of production, ensuring a high degree of manufacturing flexibility (with the exception of standardised covers, which are produced by stamping and therefore have fixed dimensions).
This approach applies in particular to customised hatches 392, 392R e 394, made entirely to custom specifications, including the lid.
At this stage, various mechanical processes are also conducted on round steel rods and bar elements.
3. Specific component processing
sheet metal has been cut, the process is divided into distinct stages depending on the type of component:
- Covers: moulding followed by polishing.
- Frames: rolling/bending, welding, sizing and finally finishing.
- Other components (such as brackets, crossbars, etc.): more specific and varied processes, which may include bending, machining and/or stamping
4. Assembly and final inspection
Once processing is complete, the components are assembled.
Before the final assembly, the cover and frame are always fitted together to check that the product closes correctly and functions properly.Once
When assembly is complete, each item undergoes a final quality check, then is packaged and prepared for shipment to the customer.
The stages described summarize a complex and detailed production process, which can take varying amounts of time depending on the type of item.
Every Arten product is the result of meticulous work, careful planning, and constant monitoring, elements that guarantee the high-quality standards necessary to justify the delivery times and costs associated with production.
